Seems to be working fine but really hard to tell. Really wish it would have come with written installation instructions. Baring that, there should be a note in the packaging directing me to the installation video. I installed it without either, cussing the whole time.
Glad I got this to ride further and up some huge mountain passes
Bought it but haven’t come anywhere close to needing it. I haven’t installed it yet.
I have had my CF Racer 1 for a year on June 1. I am over the moon in love with it. This year I have planned some longer rides, 70 miles or so, and I ordered the Dual Battery add on. It arrived promptly. I am handy with tools, but not a bike mechanic. After watching the video, installation was a breeze. I am a 190 lb. experienced rider with 80 year old legs. I use PAS 1 mostly and 2 or 3 only when needed. I am now at 93 miles with 60% SOC on the added battery. I would say that is better than expected. My only complaint is there are no instructions on how to use the battery. I didn’t know what the buttons and icons on the bottom of the battery were for. I learned by trial and error. I now have it figured out pretty much and am very happy with things.
Haven’t needed it yet.
Fantastic product. I would say that this was a game changer for me and my riding experience! I can now go twice the distance and don’t have to economize the power level. The only negative is that the installation was somewhat challenging – and I am a fairly handy guy. Had to run to the store to by a 7mm wrench so that I could open and close the spring loaded plastic cylinder inside the battery compartment. You have to remove this cylinder in order to connect the new battery. Also, once you install – it’s a fairly permanent setup – battery is not easily removed from its mount as you would have to disconnect the power cable using needle nose pliers to unscrew the ring which holds it in place. All of these are minor inconveniences – the end-result is well worth the trouble and the cost!
