FAQ'S

minus plus
What are key differences between the Roadster v2 and the Roadster v3? minus plus

The key differences between the Roadster V3 and Roadster V2 center around enhanced performance, improved technology, and premium components in the v3.

The Roadster V3 features a more powerful and more quiet 500W angled-gear hub motor (versus the V2’s 350W motor), a superior Intui-Drive torque sensor system refined with the motor and controller for smoother and more responsive pedal-assist (versus the V2’s cadence sensor), Tektro hydraulic brakes (versus pivot rim or mechanical disc brakes) and in addition to the a Dayco Power Carbon belt drive. The chain version features the microShift SL-M819, a premium gear set renowned for its durability and reliability across diverse riding conditions.

Moreover, the V3 comes with high-end features like an integrated, lockable and removable Samsung cell battery, Addix compound, Super Race carcass construction Schwalbe G-One RS tires or Pirelli Cinturato tires, and the advanced Velofox vivid-color display, offering a premium and luxury riding experience at an affordable cost.

What is the benefit of the Intui-Drive sensor system? minus plus

The Intui-Drive torque sensor system offers several benefits that enhance your riding experience:
1. Smooth Power Delivery: It provides seamless, immediate power response based on your pedaling force, ensuring a smooth, natural ride feel.
2. Enhanced Efficiency: Unlike traditional cadence sensors, the Intui-Drive system maximizes battery efficiency by adjusting power output precisely to your pedaling effort.
3. Improved Ride Control: It offers better control over acceleration and deceleration, making your ride more intuitive and responsive.
4. Minimal Maintenance: The contactless sensor design reduces wear and tear, leading to lower maintenance requirements.
These features blended into to the Roadster v3 offer a premium riding experience at an affordable cost. Learn more about Intui-Drive.

What top speed can I expect on the Roadster v3? minus plus

The Roadster V3 is designed to reach up to 28 mph with pedal assist. Unlike ebikes with cadence sensors that provide consistent motor assistance regardless of effort, maintaining higher speeds like 28 mph on the Roadster v3 requires maximum effort and torque applied from the rider. With an Intui-Drive torque sensor system, it responds dynamically to how much force you apply to the pedals, offering a smoother, more natural ride.

Achieving and maintaining peak speeds will require less pedaling effort on flat terrain, but hilly areas or fatigue may affect top speed compared to cadence-based systems. Riders will find the torque sensor makes the bike feel more responsive, intuitive, and engaging – especially at moderate speeds.

Can I test ride a bike? minus plus

We are a direct-to-consumer company both in pricing and strategy. You will generally pay a premium for the ability to test ride through a dealer. However, our bikes have been thoroughly tested by top reviewers such as Electric Bike Review, Electric Bike Report, Cycling Weekly, Clean Technica, Electrek and many others who have published their reviews on YouTube. Additionally, we are now supporting an independent network of owners offering their bikes for demos. Learn more here: Locations.

What can I expect ordering a bike from Ride1Up? minus plus

This article will explain all about what to expect when ordering a bike from us. Ordering With Us.

Can I switch the handlebars to another model? minus plus

No. The variations you see on the site are the only options we have.

Can you ship to _______? minus plus

We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Shipping to Canada is $400. Currently, not shipping to Hawaii. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which often times applied after importing ebikes. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our electric bikes directly to Europe or Alaska at this time. You can use a shipping forwarder like ShopUsa.com to reach your country.

Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.

What tires will come on my bike? minus plus

Due to supply chain constraints from our component manufacturers, Ride1Up may substitute certain components in rare instances such as tires. We meticulously select replacement components that provided similar, if not better quality and value, than the originally listed components. Our current production includes a mix of Schwalber G-One RS and Pirelli Cinturato gravel tires, which are both high quality and listed in our component section above.

The bike is hyped as an awesome commuter and has all these awesome capabilities. It flaunts a 28mph class3 speed, more torque than other bikes in its class, light weight, and great customer support. I’ve had the bike for about 500 miles and have completely changed the tires cause there is no way you could safely or easily change a rear flat while commuting on this bike. It requires 3 or 4 different Allen wrenches and complete removal of kickstand plus tiny screws you’d be sure to lose if your broken down in the middle of your commute. The 36v battery drains off very quickly and there is limited ability to hit 28mph even at full effort unless battery is 100% and also weight of rider. Bike performance will not be as advertised if your are over certain weight but manufacturer won’t tell you. Loose spokes and already had to pay to get a broken one replaced. If you don’t know anything about e-bikes torque and voltage don’t start with this bike. It is a peddle assist despite having a “throttle”. Also not built for hills in Seattle. Would be great somewhere flat. Manufacturer also locks you out of the controller and tells you there are no locked settings when you contact customer support but clearly there are cause you can find them in the controller and they are locked but they won’t give you the code. I’m out my money and learned my lessons. It will serve its purpose for now but I would not buy a mail order bike thinking I’m getting a good deal cause any savings you think you got are undercut by the amount of repairs and tune up. Also brakes squeak and rub something fierce. Also they were losing money so put cheaper cassette and components on the bike after all the online reviews made their videos. Bike does look awesome and most people don’t realize it’s an e-bike so that is fun. It goes on the city bus pretty well too.

Absolutely love the bike. So far, I've yet to use anything but eco mode. That includes some short, steep inclines where I'm out of saddle, puhing the pedals. For me the bikes a keeper. I would have given it a five star rating except for quality control and and support, Assembling the bike was easy. First ride was not good. Terrible grinding noise when I pedaled. Customer service was not much help. I replaced the pedals, but that wasn't the problem. Ended up at my local bike shop. Both wheels were out of true, rear brake was rubbing, belt needed adjustment. After $150 for repairs the bike was running great. Then noticed the rear light was not working. Had to get a replacement from Ride1Up. This required removal of rear wheel to put on the new light. All of this was due to poor quality control as it all hads to do with the assembled rear end. No excuse. After all of this, I still love the bike. It's exactly what I was looking for. Single speed, belt drive and light weight for an ebike.

Unbelievable bike! I have the Carbon Belt Medium. Rides like a true road bike, nimble and quick. But has the benefit of being electric when you that additional assist. Also has throttle (other bikes on the market don't have that) for when you get really tired. But the real joy is pedaling it. Because the pedal assist gives you that extra kick to make biking fun.

I love this bike! It has a simplicity and elegance to the design, the small display, the perfect lights, the battery pack. It rides very smooth and is light for an e-bike. I am very happy with my purchase!

Absolutely love this bike. The ability to coast on the motor and have a great 10 speed bike is so great and I love it compared to my old bike. Super happy with it

This bike is absolutely fantastic! It is beautifully balanced and nimble, making it easy to get around pedestrians and other bikes and to ride in traffic. Really like how quiet the motor is, and the fine-tuned speed. This is my first bike in decades and I would highly recommend it!
